WHY IT’S AWESOME: A free, high-energy, community-based circuit workout –and it’s done by 7 a.m.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: Who needs a cup of coffee when you have the November Project? The 6:29 a.m. start time might seem daunting, but I really enjoyed meeting new people and mixing up my workout routine. Definitely will be back. – Sarah Scrivens/Bridgeliner

2. PORTLAND RUNNING COMPANY (@portlandrunningco)

WHY IT’S AWESOME: This go-to spot for running gear offers a variety of free group runs every week.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: It had been a while since I had done a track workout, but I felt very comfortable running with Portland Running Company. People of varying fitness levels completed the workouts at their own pace, but were supportive of other people. We had such a great time that we took it across to street to Hopworks to grab a beer after!  —Sarah Scrivens/Bridgeliner

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: “I’ve been working with Shawn for about 1.5 yrs now and in that time have seen a tremendous increase in fitness and race times (going from my first local olympic distance triathlon to competing at the world championships under his guidance and training plans), had an absolute blast the whole time, and made wonderful friends and training partners through Steelhead.” —Cymon K.
