Orange Sunshine

Growing Pains
Growing Pains is a Portland homegrown band that doesn’t really fit into a category – and that’s a good thing. It’s a band that shows what Portland musicians do best—produce wildly, original music.
Of course, people like to reference connections, so categories like Emo and Indie will probably be the go-to categories in which to add Growing Pains’ to a song list.
Do you have some Portland music you’d like to share?
Their song Orange Sunshine is a beautiful song – and one you wouldn’t necessarily expect coming out of a Gen-Z group. Not because Gen-Z can’t produce amazing music, but this is 4:45 minutes of very sophisticated music you’d expect to come out of a band that’s had decades of practice under their belt. If the song has to be pigeonholed into a flavor, think Freelance Whales – Enzymes mixed with the crescendoing end of There Will Be Fireworks’ In Excelsis Deo.
